Password protection is useful when a PDF contains invoices, personal forms, contracts or internal notes that should not open casually after sharing. vinniDocu applies protection in the browser and exports a new locked copy.

What it does

The exported PDF requires the open password before the document can be viewed in compatible PDF readers.

What to remember

Password protection is not password recovery. Store the password safely, because vinniDocu does not keep a copy and cannot restore it later.

Privacy model

The selected PDF and password stay in the current browser session while the protected file is created locally.

Helpful notes

  • Use a unique password that you do not reuse across accounts.
  • Share the password through a different channel from the PDF itself.
  • Test the exported file before deleting the original document.
  • Some older PDF readers support fewer encryption features than modern readers.
